Charlie David, the multi-talented star of the popular here! TV network’s long-running series Dante’s Cove, will be greeting his many fans at a live appearance at the Pride Factory, Fort Lauderdale on Saturday June 20, 2009, from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon.
Charlie is visiting South Florida to promote the award-winning film Mulligans, which he co-produced, wrote, and starred in. Secrecy, betrayal, and a painful coming of age dilemma face a family in this premiere film from David’s own production company. The film takes a fresh and honest look at the inner workings of a family and second chances.
When college jock Tyler brings buddy Chase home for the summer holidays a secret is revealed that threatens to tear his perfect family apart. The two young men will discover the importance of friendship and second chances. Chase is faced with the challenge of controlling his attraction for Tyler’s father Nathan, as Nathan struggles to resist his feelings for his son's best friend while safeguarding his life-long secret to protect his family. Can a man keep his family and still hold onto himself?
Mulligans has been shown at gay film festivals across the US and Canada as well as around the world, winning best feature awards at Pittsburgh and Fort Worth. The film co-stars Thea Gill, from Queer As Folk and Dante’s Cove.
Charlie commented, “I feel there is a great need for representing different aspects of the LGBT community. There is a flood of entertainment that reflects a small section of the gay experience and I wanted to explore some new terrain. Mulligans is about a family and the very human needs of loving each other but also loving ourselves enough to want to live our authentic selves.”

In 2005 Out Magazine recognized Charlie in the ‘Out 100’ at their gala in New York. In 2007 the Philadelphia Film Society awarded Charlie with their Rising Star Award. In 2008 the Festival del Sol in Gran Canaria awarded their Best Male Actor Award to Charlie and the male cast of A Four Letter Word. Having enjoyed life on the road with music and modeling contracts across North America and Europe, Charlie is now focused on film and TV with recent roles in the films, A Four Letter Word and Kiss the Bride, and on ABC’s Ugly Betty, Bravo!’s Godiva’s, Showtime’s Reefer Madness, Movie Central/Movie Channel’s award winning Terminal City and starring in a 4th season of Dante’s Cove.
